W&D Style: Olive Your Outfit

In an ongoing quest to choose “style” over “trend,” I tend to opt for basics. Between all the commuting and traveling for business, I need neutrals that are flexible enough for work or play. Lately, I’ve been really drawn to wearing quite a bit of white, I’m not sure if it’s a reflection of the summer season or if it’s the easiest thing to coordinate when you are living out of a suitcase…as long as you keep a Tide stick handy.

In high school, I loved Army Surplus jackets because they added a kind of effortless cool to a normally so-so outfit. Now that I’m a bit older, I realize it wasn’t just the jacket that went with everything (because it did) but the color. Olive does sometimes get a bad rap of being “drab” or “militant”, but paired with the right color, olive adds oomph to your neutrals and grounds a girly palette.
