It Takes Two, or a West Elm Roar + Rabbit Giveaway

** THIS GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED **

A business partnership is like a marriage; it has its ups and downs and you sometimes don’t know at the onset if it’s going to last. As a sole proprietor, or lone wolf as I sometimes like to call it, I’m always curious to know the dynamic between two people can work together, just about seamlessly, to produce amazing results.

W+D_Jan18-6

One partnership that embodies this kind of synergy is that of Mitzie Wong and Wendy Wurtzburger of Philadelphia-based design firm Roar + Rabbit. Both of these women worked in various roles at some amazing home brands before coming together to launch their debut home collection exclusively at West Elm. The Roar + Rabbit collection includes furniture, lighting, textiles, and decorative objects, West Elm’s biggest collaboration to date. Thanks for their new partnership with West Elm, they’re making their debut to the masses!

In short, the collection is a perfect blend of traditional and modern, a “new modern” mixing hard, clean lines with pastels and incorporating bold graphics with timeless silhouettes. I first saw the amazing Swivel Chair in their newest catalog and immediately dog-eared the corner of the page.  Gorgeous mid-century lines, plush velvet, and pleating in the most “it” colors of the season. The chair wasn’t the only looker in this collection. The Roar + Rabbit Linear Side Table and dresser bring a cool geometric energy to your everyday pieces. They’re stunning.

  • What a gorgeous chair! Those pleats add so much visual interest and the legs are so unique. This would be a perfect accent for the underused corner of my living room — more seating for cozy evenings and game nights. A real gem!

  • Living in a very small one bedroom apartment I’ve been looking for a statement chair for the living room to best make use of the limited space we have. The style of this chair is gorgeous and it would be the perfect thing to curl up and read a book in.

  • Ooo, that dusty blush, with the iron and brass bed we have in our guest room would be killer! I’d tuck it right next to the window, which sits next to a bunch of trees, so you’ll feel like your in posh tree house!

  • I love that chair! I am moving next month and it would be the perfect pop of color in my new living room. Fingers crossed!!

  • Amazing color! It would be a beautiful addition to the “sad” corner of my living room. I can’t get over the pleating… love it!

  • My gran had a very similar style chair (in olive green) that was tucked away in a corner with a side table and reading lamp. I have fond memories of sitting cross-legged paging through her old dog-eared Better Homes and Gardens. I would love to recreate her little spot with the swivel chair! The tufts and brass details are timeless.

  • my sister just moved out, and it would be amazing to have this chair for my mother to be able to enjoy some leisure time in our now spare bedroom 🙂

  • With a new Great Dane puppy in the mix at our house, seating comes at a premium. Seeing as I’ve been booted off the couch :), a just for me chair sounds like a luxury!

  • I just bought a deep gray couch, and the blush chair would look amazing next to it! It would be my puppy’s new favorite sleep spot!

Also, the walls of my house are covered with art of friends and colleagues, and I think adding this chair to the mix would really just bring it all together.

  • Truthfully, my home is filled with IKEA. The look of this chair balances nicely against my modern, sleek furniture. My bold patterned rug underneath will tie it all together.

Definitely fits my simplistic minimalist aesthetic. Thanks for the giveaway!

  • How absolutely stunning! This chair could be styled a million different ways — the surefire sign it’s one that’s going to last a lifetime. I’m in a selfish mood, so I’d like to keep it in the bedroom, so I could sit down and enjoy it every morning as shoes and socks go on.

This chair looks like it would do just that. (And the grey would be great at masking my grey dog’s hair.)

  • What a chair! This is such a delightful design and would pair well with my mid century decor. Something old, something new is definitely the theme we carry in our mid century Minneapolis home. This chair would be a delight!

  • I love how this chair incorporates both traditional and modern elements. I would put this in my bedroom, which as it happens is a mix of modern and traditional lines, and create a reading corner—one that pairs as perfectly with a morning cup of coffee as it does with an evening glass of wine!

  • I have a beautiful wooden side table that is the cross section of a knotty, oddly shaped tree that has been sitting lonely in my home waiting for a chair like this one! I’d place a copper accented tea tray on the table with a few books, plus a small hobnail milkglass bud vase with a large yellow mum. I’d also add a snuggly throw for good measure.

  • I have the perfect little nook in my home for this pretty little number. I’d style it with my wire basket of west elm throws against my gallery wall. This would be the coziness addition to my newlywed home 🙂

  • I have the most perfectly perfect corner in my living room just begging for this chair – and its just the right color too. It would be in front of my white linen curtains, I would drape an herringbone throw over it and relocate my snake plant to nestle up next to it. Honestly I’m dying over this gorgeous piece.

  • I think I just fell in love with a chair! What a beauty! I would buy another and use the pair as alternative to a loveseat in the living room. A clear side table would be perfect in between them.

  • This chair would perfectly complement my couch and bookcase. I would use this to create a reading nook. Drooling over the lines and style!

  • My style is mid-century bohemian meats comfort. I would put this chair (in Nickel or Lichen) in my living room next to my worn-in leather couch and my brand new Mixed-Metal Adjustable Floor Lamp from West Elm!

  • I love how you styled these chairs. I would also use one of these chairs in my living room – we only have a love seat, not a full sofa, so it would be the perfect extra chair to curl up in with a good book.

  • These chairs would fit my minimalist neutral home so well! I live in a tiny house where every piece matters because every piece takes space. This piece would go perfectly and add so much softness to my little home. I would put it next to my fig tree!

  • This chair will look lovely with the arabesque print pouf I just purchased from West Elm! It will tie my living space together while providing additional seating in my small studio apartment.

  • My husband and I just got married and are now in our first home together! I would love to use this as a statement piece in our little living room to make it feel more like a [very chic] home. 🙂

  • I would make it my much needed Mama Throne, the place I alone am permitted for reflection, solitude, and morning peace. It would be smashing in our newly redesigned LR.

  • I’d put this beauty in my guest bedroom with a vintage desk. The beautiful upholstery would play perfectly with some warm-toned wood!

  • I’d use the swivel chair to add more texture to my living room. Recently re-upholstered my sectional in a thick-weaved herringbone. They’d be lovely together.

  • What a beautiful piece! Just love the pleating, so classy. This chair would add so much character to my loft, in the corner of my bedroom complimented by my new West Elm velvet curtains! In love!

  • Id put in in our living room next to our new light grey sectional couch, and drape our beautiful blue and cream west elm throw over it for cozying up. Dream!

  • Fabulous 🙂
My husband and I just moved into a new apartment last fall due to our relocation for grad school. This would be the perfect piece to finish out our living room!
    Cheers!
    Hannah

  • I would put the chair in an awkward space in our living room that we are converting into a reading nook, complete with a basket of throws and an ottoman. This chair would complement the brass accents in the room perfectly.

  • I think the swivel chair would be a great statement piece that would add an interesting element in my living room! The design of the chair is just amazing! I’m drooling over them! Great job Roar + Rabbit and West elm !!

  • I would put this in my living room. I have an apartment full of hand me downs.. a rug, a coffee table and a couch. I am not quite at the point in my life when i can afford to buy my own pieces, but i want to have my own touches on my space so bad! I would treat these pieces with love and they would fit in great with my hand me downs!

  • Hi! First thanks so much for giving your readers the opportunity to win this beautiful chair. I live in a tiny 400 sq foot studio apartment and have been searching far and wide for lounge seating that won’t take up my entire bedroom! I’m also an avid reader and am in desperate need for a reading chair! Grey is a key part of my color scheme so this chair would look amazing with the rest of my decor. I have the perfect pillow to compliment the chair’s beautiful texture. I also love how it swivels because my studio floor plan almost demands every piece to be versatile. Thanks again! 🙂

  • I literally just gutted our first home and in days away from completing the construction. Which can only mean it’s time to furnish… I’ve been eyeing these chairs for a little while now and I know a pair would be perfect in my gorgeous new living room!!!

  • I desperately need another chair in my living room, and one to compliment my West Elm sofa and vintage tulip coffee table would be ideal! This chair is perfect and would look great in my space! Thanks!

  • Oh, so gorgeous! I would use the swivel chair in a little reading nook I’m working on, with a pretty mid-century plaid rug and mounted open bookshelves.

  • I’m just starting out on my own as a designer and have been dreaming of having this chair in an empty corner of my new home office. I fell in love when I saw them at the store with a pale gray Mongolian fur throw pillow on them!

  • Man that chair is gorgeous. I would put it right at the end of my entryway, so that it was the first thing people see in my house! Maybe with a potted plant next to it!

  • I think this chair would be amazing at my desk, which is located in my bedroom! Maybe not the first place most would put it, but having the ability to swivel while also being a statement piece, esepcially in the bedroom, would be amazing! The color and fabric are so lux!

  • This chair is beautiful! I would place a pair in my new living room. We are furnishing our newish midcentury rambler and they would look amazing!

  • Hi Kate! This is amazing!! What a beautiful collection, and I must have missed the last West Elm catalog, because this is the first I’ve seen of it. The pieces are so beautiful and the pleated chair is my favorite! We are in the process of buying a house, and will need a lot more furniture to fill it up, so I would love to add this chair to the mix for the living room. The room is bright white with lots of windows, and all of our other furniture is black, grey, or brown leather….so I’d go with the grey version. It would look so great! I’m putting in on my shopping list anyway 🙂

  • This chair is so gorgeous. We just bought a home with more space than we have furniture and I’ve been obsessing over creating the perfect reading corner. We just bought a colorful Turkish rug to put in our sitting room that has dark teal walls and a wall of dark wood shelves for all of my books. The gray version of this chair would be the perfect neutral piece to ground all the pieces around it.

  • Umm, Hi Beautiful chair! You would be amazing with a fab jewel toned kilim and a really great lumbar in a subtle pattern. In my house. ?

  • This chair is to die for!! I’m in love with the velvet and think this great grey would fit right in with the rest of my pieces. Add some modernity to my mostly mcm decor!

  • Would LOVE this beautiful chair in my home! It’s such a beautiful style that mixes the aesthetics of me and my husband. And the cats will love it too!

  • I would replace our puffy old recliner that’s super comfy but also an eyesore! And I’d put a throw over the chair during the daytime to protect it from my cat’s litter paws 😛

  • I just moved to a new city and started a new job. I am now tasked with decorating my new office in a way that is professional but still represents my personality and style. This amazing chair would be the perfect statement piece. Thanks for the chance to win!

  • I survived breast cancer in 2015 and to celebrate, my boyfriend and I bought our first house together. We both love modern furniture mixed with some traditional pieces and this chair would look amazing in any of our rooms. I think I would press to have it in my office though, opposite my desk. Or perhaps I would replace the existing corner chair in our living room with it.

  • I would put this chair in our living room between our bookcase and turntable. It would be the perfect place to listen to records or sit down for a read!

  • This chair is beautiful! We’re in the process of culling through our belongings and getting rid of things we don’t need and investing in high quality, timeless pieces that we can enjoy for years. This table would look great with our lighter grey couch and white side tables!

  • I love this chair! I saw it the other day at West Elm and was dreaming of all the places I could put it. I would love it in my living room!!

  • Such a beautiful and unique piece! I would remove my husband’s heavy leather chair from our living room and use the Swivel chair in its place. It sits next to a beautiful, old ceramic elephant side table passed down from my grandmother, to mother, to me, and the pairing would be fantastic.

  • Absolutely gorgeous! I would be ecstatic to win this lovely chair. In my home, “mommy relaxation time” is essential so I would create a coffee nook in our dining room. The perfect spot to sit, sip, and read the paper. Complete with this chair, a plush faux lambskin rug and eye-catching pendant light over head. Thanks! Fingers crossed!

  • I think it would look killer next to our slate green/grey/brown fireplace. With a little side table/tree stump and perhaps am unassuming ottoman. To not steal the spotlight 🙂

  • I would love to put this as the accent chair in my living room. I having been eyeing this chair in blue or grey to go along with a light tan leather couch! It would be so perfect!

  • What a beautiful chair! It would be the perfect compliment to my blue ottoman, and help create the perfect reading nook in my bedroom.

  • I’d use it as the finishing touch to my midcentury modern themed bedroom. It would be glorious as a reading chair next to my floor to ceiling window.

  • It is SO beautiful. I would definitely put this gorgeous chair in the reading corner of my master bedroom. It would perfectly compliment the mint, navy, blush and brass tones I have going on in my room.

  • Thank you for bringing this amazing chair to my attention! I love the luxury design. This would fit in perfectly into our lounge area where we can cozy up to the fire with a good book. Thank you!!

  • I’d put this in our new sitting room. My husband is buying a beautiful dark brown leather chair and this chair would be my/the perfect counterpart.

  • My husband and I just finished renovating our second floor, which is looking beautiful but a little barren right now! I would put it in our bedroom next to a window that overlooks Lake Monona in Madison, WI. We have indigo walls and brass accents and I think this chair would look super sharp!

  • I just moved out on my own for the first time. All I asked for Christmas was for items to fill my new place. I recently bought a dark grey braided quilt and a gold chevron sheet set from West Elm. It really adds vibrance to my room. But if I got this chair, it would definitely steal all the attention!

  • There’s an empty space by my fireplace that is in desperate need of this chair. The color is beyond perfect for that space. I’ve been eyeing these bad boys ever since they launched and I’d just love to take one home! I’ll pair a great pillow with it!

  • I’ve moved eight times in the past two years. And for the first time I am looking forward to settling down and being in one place for a few years. For the first time I will get to create my own space and my own home. That’s the best part, living somewhere that I don’t just call home but it feels like home. I’ve spent countless hours imagining the perfect living room and I know this chair is exactly what I have been looking for.

  • This chair… (gah / drool)… would be an addition to a sitting room I’ve intended for formal meetingz with police officers and other guests that drop by randomly. Just kidding (i hope). The room is going to have the pale pallet of my framed painting of a fluffy cumulus cloud. Black lamps, modern glass table, candles in reflective metalic votives, woven mexican blanket for an eclectic texture and a casual invitation to sit and sip/read/reflect/chat. Thanks for the opportunity!

  • What an amazing chair! It’s the perfect blend of feminine and masculine, which is what our house is (trying to be). I would put the gray one in my living room with a sheepskin draped over it to play with different textures.

  • These chairs are SO BEAUTIFUL. I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect bedroom lounge chair, and I’d nestle it in the corner next to the window. The perfect place to drink coffee and ease into each day!

  • The first time I saw the roar + rabbit collection at west elm was about a month ago. I was in search for the perfect accent chair to sit right below my newly purchased west elm Mid-Century cotton canvas etched grid curtains. Scrolling through my chair option, my eye was immediately smitten with the swivel chair! I drool over the blush, nickel and lichen colors and I drool even more that it’s paired with a plush velvet fabric on a chic gold frame! When my heart started beating again….I took a screen shot and sent it to my husband begging him to let me have it. He said no, which in turn has led me to writing my plea. The stars aligned when I found this blog, please pick me! It would be the cherry on top for my space. 

  • Love it! It would go perfect in the boys’ room. Instead of a rocking chair, a swivel chair would be the perfect place to nurse one while the other pays with his dinosaurs.

  • I would use it as a desk chair with a small antique desk I’ve got, with a soft throw – it would be the highlight of the corner of my apartment i call my ‘office.’ So gorgeous!

  • As I’m bridging my mid-to-late twenties phase of my life, I look for pieces that I love and would be a long-term fit in my home. This chair would be absolutely perfect!

  • I would put it in our living room – we just finally replaced our super old, broken down couch with a mid-century beauty and this chair would look absolutely perfect next to it!

  • An Art Deco modern beauty that would fantastic in our living room over our antique red, white and grey Navajo rug and next to our Arts + Crafts side table!

  • I would love to have this in the living room by the fireplace! I’ve seen it in person in the West Elm store and the design intricacies are marvelous!

  • I’m getting married and my fiancé and I are (finally) moving in together in the spring. This would be a perfect chair for our new living room together.

  • I would love to use this as a chair in our bedroom. It would be such a cozy spot to curl up in at night to read! The grey velvet would look incredible with our navy velvet curtains and brass accents everywhere.

  • I would love to update my living room with this chair. While I love my current chair for sentimental reasons (it was the first piece of furniture I thrifted for my very first apartment), it has seen better days. This chair would help update the room while keeping the same feel.

  • I would put it in our Jackson Hole ski house which is a modern building so I’ve decorated it in a rustic, midcentury-modern style with a hint of Skandinavian (my mother is Swedish so not a stretch!). I’ve picked up several West Elm pieces for it and would love to add this!!!

  • Such a stunning but practical chair. I would put this piece in a bedroom or next to a fireplace for the perfect reading nook (layered with a decorative throw) and enjoy.

  • I’d use this chair in my office as a reading nook and study spot – just beside my wall to wall industrial style bookcase (made of copper pipes and dark wood shelves) that sit across from my desk . I’m a medical student, so I could use a beautiful spot for reading and studying that doesn’t involve being hunched over a desk. 🙂

  • Welp. These are gorgeous. I think if I won, I’d have to just bite the bullet and buy another one to match because wow. These would be perfect our bedroom by our large window. We would use them to put on shoes – swivel around and look at one another – and generally gab about the perfection in their design. In conclusion: want.

  • I love these chairs! I would use this chair as a reading nook, with a white faux fur rug underneath, a hanging bulb light from west elm, and a wall-mounted shelf for my current book library! I love the geometric style and it would work beautifully in my living room!

    Callie

  • This would be the perfect thing to add some pretty to our basement living room, which doesn’t need to automatically become a “man cave” just because it’s the basement! I’d set this up with a nice plush throw and add a side table to make a little reading nook. I can just see it now.

  • I dog-eared the same page in the west elm catalog! I would love to put one of these in my living room next to my single lonely chair. It would be a beautiful addition to the room and would allow us to use the space so much more!

  • I would use it in my living room to add some texture and richness. I haven’t stopped thinking about this chair since I first laid eyes on it!

  • This chair is BEAUTIFUL! I’m slowly updating my living room and it would go perfect with my other vintage mid-century finds.

  • The Swivel Chair would look great next to my fireplace, in front of the built-in bookshelves. I would cozy that beautiful velvet up even more with a throw blanket or fun throw pillow and a magazine holder (for my over-the-top magazine obsession) next to it. Perfect!

  • This chair would be perfect in our owners suite, a place to nurse the baby, and read a book. The gray would perfectly match our bedding! It’s so lovely.

  • The new home for this chair would be in our spare bedroom. It’s a bright, white, airy room that could use some beautiful color. Our house is filled with moody colors, grays, and drama so this would definitely pull in some of those elements as it is such a romantic and cozy chair. Would LOVE to own!

  • I love the look of this chair. I would position it by the large window in the living room to look out on the snow, trees and clouds. Our Gordon Setter puppy, Thor, who has full access to all the living room furniture will have to beat me to sit in this beautiful chair!

  • Although I love love love grey, I would get the Dusty Rose version as a bolder neutral to add to my cosy living room, as my Persian rug has similar tones. It would be a great corner reading chair, partnered with a mounted brass wall lamp.

  • Enter to win. Enter to win. Loved this Swivel so much I texted my kiddos to say the aforementioned. Lol, they replied ( separately). Both of them already had. Then I realized, I had to have it. And just maybe if I win, they can Rock Paper Scissors for the rocker.

  • I live with roommates so it’s difficult to feel like the pieces I invest in are being cared for and respected in a way that I would were I to live alone. This piece would fit perfectly in my bedroom to create a reading nook and personal space for me to spend time de-stressing and meditating- two things I desperately need for these days. It’d be amazing to have a piece to start adding to my personal collection of things to take great care of until I have a space of my own.

  • So gorgeous in the details! I would style this in the bedroom, with a leather pouf ottoman and the best of Netflix binge watching.

  • I’d keep the styling on this piece very minimal, and would allow the multiple colors and textures of the chair to contrast with my (new) bare wooden floor. I’ve been living in a transitional state for the last year, so the addition of this piece to my new apartment would be a dream. thanks!

  • Such a cool chair! Love the classic silhouette with the unexpected pleats…this would definitely make a great addition in my living room!

  • I’m totally feeling all of the color offerings for this chair, and would love to have one in my living room with a small pillow or throw.

  • God what a gorgeous chair! I would place it in my office which doubles as my living room, where my husband (who doubles as my business partner!) and I can enjoy it while we work together!

  • We have an awkward nook in our bedroom that would suit this chair perfectly. A huge potted plant, a small side table, and this chair would make a perfect spot to sit and read for a bit in the morning (a new habit I’m trying to get started!)

  • I would love to have a cozy (& beautiful!) chair for the living room of my next apartment. I’d pair it with West Elm’s Mid-Century Tripod Floor Lamp in Antique Brass and Lulu & Georgia’s Delaney Rug in Sweet Cream. Why not throw in a dark tan pouf as well?

  • What a beaut! This would go so beautifully with our light grey chesterfield couch! Definitely would add a side table next to it with some books and knicks knacks.

  • beautiful chair! i’d love to put that in our master bedroom with the marble side table we have for morning reading times!

  • Beautiful! I’d put in my living room to replace a fragile vintage daybed that my kids will surely destroy if I don’t say goodbye to it soon!

A simple marble top side table with brass legs, a knit throw and our golden retriever would be the perfect accessories. 🙂

  • I’ve been wanting to replace our chunky Ikea sofa for some time, and this chair would be the perfect starting point for a new living room with a vintagey, eclectic feel. I really want the room to have more character (and not the in current “I’ve had this since college” way!)

  • I just had my attic refinished into a huge master suite. This chair would help turn an awkward corner by the window into a cozy reading nook.

  • I am a single mom who has been slowly redecorating my mid-century ranch for the past few years. My living room is the last room on my list and I have been eyeing this chair for a while. I first saw it at the West Elm in Brooklyn during the hoildays… and I fell in love. It would be the perfect finishing touch to accompany my vintage pieces and mid-century architecture. Love!

  • This chair would fit perfectly in the bay window of my living room. The Chinese deco rugs in there would liven up around it, and with a little Hollywood regency side table next to this chair, my room would finally be complete!

  • I drooled over this chair for almost an eternity at the West Elm in Austin yesterday only to snap back to the reality that I am a student and I have a hefty tuition bill sitting in my inbox that needs to be paid. It’s quite likely that I would die and go to velvet chair heaven if I could put this baby in my room and force my cat to sit there while I snap a million photos. I would put it in the corner of my bedroom under my floating wall shelf that’s currently home to a cute succulent and my favorite Amber + Moss candle. This chair would have a loving family (me and my cat, Murphy) and a good life ahead if it were mine. I solemnly swear that I will never forsake it or take it for granted. Oh, and I promise to find a throw blanket that is equally as worthy to keep it company. Pick me, pick me!

  • My husband and I have 10 children. One year, one of our kindergartners had homework where they had to count certain objects around our house. Shoes=we estimated 85 pairs in the entryway. Spoons=62. I was surprised about the chairs=27! We have a modest house but apparently I “hoard” chairs, they are around the table, at the counter, in bedrooms, on the patio, there’s a stack in the basement…

This giveaway was custom made for me! We’ve established that I love chairs and West Elm is truly my favorite retailer. AND I have the perfect spot for this chair. • The lovely swivel chair would be my nest within my nest for reading, sipping tea, and pondering journal entries. I would style the chair by placing it close to a window with a nice fluffy forest green throw.

  • It’s so gorgeous I’d put it in the most prominent place in the house and not let anyone touch it. Possibly cover it with plastic to protect it from the kids. 😉

  • We only have a couch and I’ve been looking into chairs that aren’t too bulky, so I would love to have this in our living room! I’d like to find a coordinating ottoman to go with it

  • Such a gorgeous chair! I would replace our oversized leather chair in the living room with this piece – it would fit the space so much better.

  • This chair is a beauty! LOVE the way it is styled in the photos. I live in a tiny apartment and have a spot near a window in my bedroom that would be perfect with the Blush upholstery option, a modern demi table and lamp, I’d create the perfect little reading nook!

  • Right now, the only seating I have in my living room is a brown leather chesterfield with a tufted blue velvet bench that serves as a foot rest/coffee table. This chair would complement both of my existing pieces and add a place for an extra guest to sit. I’d have a gold floor lamp to put near it as well (complements the legs!). Honestly, I’d love this chair to be absolutely anywhere in my house.

  • This swivel chair is simply beautiful and belongs in my little home office. It needs a cozy corner where I can get away from the computer screen for a moment, sip tea (or guzzle coffee), and seek calm in the midst of a hectic work/travel schedule. Not far away would be a basket of warm blankets and a pile of good magazines. Please oh please pick me!

  • This chair would be placed next to West Elm’s Axel Sofa we just placed in our “New Room”, a room we turned into a four season room from a three season room nearly seven years ago, but still call the “New Room”. It is used daily as a family room and homeschool central for our family of nine. The chair would be a perfect addition to snuggle into on movie nights around the TV. Thank you for the opportunity for such a beauty of a chair. I nearly died when I saw it in the newest West Elm catalogue! Thank you!

  • We would use these in the front area of the house, when you first walk in to replace Great Aunt Leona’s orange (but fabulous orange) velvet wingback chairs that have probably passed their amazing stage and are pushing the limits of age…poor Great Aunt Leona’s chairs.

  • I’ve just started to recreate my living space. My favorite color right now (and probably forever) is dusty blush, rose, pink. That chair would be the focal point. It’s so perfect and lovely. I will use this chair as my inspiration for my entire space. I might even place it in my art studio to sit and critique my paintings ??

  • This would replace an old hand me down chair in our living room. Perfect next to our glass end table! Love the fabric!

  • We have a sunny nook just outside the kitchen that I’ve been longing to turn into a casual office space. I’d love to use this chair with WE’s midcentury mini desk.

  • I’d love to style this chair in our nursery. We’re in the early stages of putting planning for furniture and colors. I would LOVE to cuddle my new babe to sleep in this beautiful chair!

  • What a beauty. I would place it anywhere in my home. My style is totally a mixture of modern and tradition. We have been focused on paying off debt, and saving up money for a house. This would definitely add warmth and style to a bare corner of my apartment 🙂
Thanks for the opportunity. Your home is beautiful!

  • I would love to put that chair in my living room, next to the window. It would be a great place to curl up with a glass of wine and read a book!

  • Oh this would look perfect in our freshly painted living room! We painted the walls white to have a blank canvas to work with, then added in our tan Restoration Hardware couch and chair, Urban Outfitters gold fainting couch, a million plants, wall of green vintage books stacked on each other, and a few big canvas paintings and prints. It would complete the look so well! Plus we need another chair for it to flow well!

  • What a beautiful chair! I’ve got this window that receives beautiful sunlight in the afternoons and I’ve been looking for the perfect reading chair to put by it. This would rock it!

  • Oh my stars! I spotted these chairs on your Instagram page recently and fell in love. So you can imagine my excitement to find out that there is also a giveaway attached! My boyfriend and I are finally moving in together after seven years of dating (I know, we must be really patient — or both enjoy living like nomads) and this will be the first NYC apartment that we’ll share. I’m beyond excited to decorate it together (without pulling each others hair out, of course). I think these chairs would fit perfectly with both our aesthetics and would be such an amazing addition to our new home. I hope you’ll consider us for this amazing giveaway! All the best.

  • I am moving to NY next week and am getting all new furniture and this chair would be the perfect cozy corner piece for my bedroom! Fingers crossed!

  • I know exactly where this would go. When I got married 12 years ago I bought “my chair.” Made for me. Someone who likes to read and lounge and pin….not near a tv. Enter, what we call, Red Chair. Red Chair was a bit of a lounge style as the seat extended out a bit so you could stretch your legs. Correction: You can stretch your legs if your 5’6″ or smaller. My mom, sister and MIL all love red chair because they are not Sasquatch-ian like me. I slide off Red Chair if I stretch my legs. All three of my dogs love Red Chair. It is essentially now the world’s fanciest and most expensive dog bed. Red Chair suffered some damage in the incident now known as ‘The Master Bathroom Shower Pan Leak Into the Living Room of 2014.’ She’s never been the same since. Red Chair has lived a full life and she’s weathered the storm and everyone enjoys her except me- the person for whom she was originally meant for. It’s time Red Chair live out her years in retirement- aka our family room basement- for the dogs to continue to whine and stare each other down over who gets to sit on her. Fancy Chair (as this gray lovely shall be called) shall be moved into our living room corner where Red Chair used to reign. Fancy chair would be away from tv, looking directly on some quasi-expensive art I’ve purchased over the years and love. She’d be next to the fire place so I could actually use her to read, day dream and Pin. And she would be all mine. No dogs allowed. With a cute marble top side table with brass legs I got from Target next to her.

  • I think I’d declare it Mama’s Chair and pop it in our sunny reading nook, then have one-on-one reading time with each kiddo in our new little nest.

  • I would love this swivel chair in my living room. The upholstery matches a grey vintage rug we already have in place. Keeping my fingers crossed!

  • Such a beautiful chair! I would surely put it in my bedroom with a side table. Perfect reading spot before bed!

  • I am redoing my master bedroom, using a palette of black, white, forest green and brass with wood. I love the idea of adding the blush pink chair as a compliment to the colors of the room and to add a feminine touch.

  • Love this west elm collection! All gorgeous pieces! With this chair I’d keep my space neutral with shades of grey and white and accents of medium to light colored wood.

  • This chair would be a fantastic replacement for a current chair in my living room. The current chair is so awful even my frugal dad can’t wait for me to get rid of it!

  • This beauty of a chair would be perfect in my living room. I’d love to curl up next to the fire with a cup of tea and enjoy these cold winter evenings in that chair.

  • This would be lovely in the living room by the front window. The color would be so pretty on the hardwood floor! It would sit next to a little table to hold my tea, and I’d be sure to keep my cream colored cozy, chunky knit throw and good book nearby!

  • I’d love to create a reading nook in my living room right next to my large window. I’d style with a plush throw, a raw edge wood table (for some contrast), a reading light casting a warm glow and a lovely mug with hot tea.
    What a lovely collaboration.

  • Just graduated and am starting out in the real world as a textile designer. Would love to replace a very old college apartment chair with this lovely piece in my living room! I have a silk pillow from my senior collection in mind that would look lovely with it.

  • It was love at first sight… A pair of these chairs should adorn our new living space, in our newly remodeled 100 year old home. They would flank a brass and leather living room table, complete with bar set up and record player. Above them would hang a funky piece of original art full of movement and color. They’d be the perfect addition to a room with a neutral background, white sofa, and marble and brass accents. These chairs would take on life of their own and have their own stories to tell, as they grow with our very animated and unique family.

  • The femininity of this chair would pair well with my relatively “rugged” white and gray decor with reclaimed wood and navy blue southwestern accents. I can see this chair being a favorite amongst my guests who visit on Whiskey Wednesdays!

  • We are in the final stages of renovating our kitchen and in the process lost space for a one of the couches in our living room. I have been looking for something that could replace that additional seating and this chair would be absolutely perfect!! It is exactly the right mix of modern and traditional, which is what our home is starting to become, and I love that it is both great to look at and inviting to sit in.

  • I want this chair for my wife. She loves to decorate and is really good at it. Her favorite thing is to mix masculine and feminine and this chair would fit right in to her designs.

  • I’d use it to add a little much-needed warmth to my Southern California beach home. It’s all a little white and stark right now and I’m missing some softness. It would be great in my bedroom!

  • I just moved across the country without furniture and am slowly getting my apartment put together. Working for a fashion company, I find it extremely important to bring trends into my home and these would look perfect with my grey and white decor so far!

  • I love your decorating style! The WE swival chair is amazing!!!! I just moved into my condo but I would definitely love to pair this chair with my black sofa in my living room!

  • Funny, I just got the new West Elm catalog in the mail and was crushing over so many things. This chair would certainly add a finishing touch in my northern Michigan home which is comfy, cozy and stylish. No cottage look for me…eclectic with a modern flare. Fingers crossed!

  • Newly married and trying to figure out how to style our first place together. This chair is gorgeous and would be great in our family room as a side chair for guests!

  • I’d put it in the corner, next to my poster of an head xray next to my bookshelf with only my favorite books. I’d put a nice rug under it and use it as a reading/reflection spot in my small, cozy apartment.

  • i’d probably put it in my piano room since its so sparse. it’ll also make the room multifunctional for reading and lounging. thanks for hosting the giveaway!

  • I really love this chair! I would put it in my bedroom, in my little bay window, so I could sit in it on Sunday mornings with the paper and a coffee in hand.

  • A man cafe is a place where a step father and his step son bond over freshly made siphoned coffee and hot chocolate. This new era of mid century basement workshops is where family and friends practice the art of conversation over drinks that history can not forget.

Cafe design involves considerate spaces where emotions, ideas and story telling are given a welcoming context filled with color, materials, equipment and furniture. It is a stage, if you will, where the set comprises of carefully selected props and gifts that each have their own stories and remain in this magical room where life unfolds into the graceful pleats of a gifted swivel chair. A chair that becomes the crown jewel in a midcentury ranch man cafe. “The chair” that will comfort a little boy and his new dad as they grow with each flavorful sip of life.

  • I think I’d find a spot in my room and stage a little reading nook for it. It’s so elegant and simple, I would be so grateful to have it.

  • I would LOVE to add this piece to my living room! I moved in with my partner a little over a year ago and we had to start from scratch with our furniture– the only big piece of furniture we had between us was a loveseat (ha!) Now our living room is almost complete, but we’re missing a statement chair. We have a dark grey tweed mid century style couch, and I would love to put this chair right next to it– it would really complete the room!

  • I’ve been dying to upgrade the old club chair sitting in my living room today after updating my rug. This chair would be a PERFECT compliment to the white, gray and wood color palette I have going on. I also need to trade my sofa in for a small sectional to allow for more seating. I’m ready to begin the transformation and need this Roar + Rabbit swivel chair in my life. I hope, no pray, I win!

  • Lovely! This is a perfect reading chair. I’d put this next to my living room window and curl up like a cat in the sunlight!

  • GREY! This beauty would fit right in with my family room pieces. Would work beautifully in the corner, as a reading chair 🙂

  • This is a lovely chair! I just moved and the decorating started all over again. I would love to make this chair into a reading nook.

  • I’d be tempted to replace the chair that I have in the nursery with the swivel chair, but I would probably put it in the living room and make anyone that came over stare at it and tell me how envious they are of me and my beautiful chair. It would have to replace the TV so that my guests aren’t distracted and can focus solely on the beautiful chair.

I’d also have to buy some other new furniture, as the swivel chair would then highlight how old my couch and rugs are. The only thing that I could actually keep in the room is the west elm light that I love.

I’d also probably need some new clothes (and shoes, of course) so that I don’t look shabby in such a nice looking chair and all 12 of my Instagram followers don’t laugh me off the internet.

It would be an expensive process, but it would be worth it.

  • A fab chair that would lend such a glam look to our sunken living room in our midcentury modern ranch. This chair was meant to be!

  • There’s a little corner I my tiny apt that this chair would fit perfectly in. I saw this chair in store the other day and fell I love!

  • This would become my go-to reading chair – sunlit by a large window. I’d add a punch of color with a vintage turkish kilim pillow passed down from my grandparents.

  • Beautiful design! I absolutely love this chair… With its dreamy textured fabric and the gold legs that set it apart from other pieces of furniture. I would love to use this chair in my bedroom– I am currently trying to do a redesign of that space and would love a chair for reading, writing and dreaming. Grey is a favorite of mine as well- truly a perfect find!

  • Lovely! Congrats on this collaboration! I just moved into a new apartment, and my favorite room is my bedroom- it has the biggest, dreamiest windows. This swivel chair would live there and become beautiful well-loved reading nook. Thanks for the chance to win. xo

  • The mid-century style + velvet make it the perfect chair for my reading nook!
(And I happen to be reading Fates and Furies with my book club right now!)

  • This chair is gorgeous! I must admit, it would probably float throughout my house because I can’t decide what room it belongs in! Perhaps my bedroom? It looks snuggly enough to read in while sipping some yummy coffee or a glass of red wine.

  • I live in a small, cozy 500 sq ft studio in west LA. I would swap my current reading/entertaining chair for this one! I love curling up in a chair with a good book, a blanket, and a cup of coffee (not the sofa, because it’s too tempting to lie down and nap!) .. Especially in the cold months!

  • The texture + color of this chair are perfect! I would use this chair in my bedroom + place it in a little nook that is between a window (use all that natural light to highlight the texture!) + some bookshelves!

  • I’d love to use this beautiful chair in my daughter’s nursery. We’ve been wanting a sweet chair to read to her, nurse, rock her to sleep while I sing. This chair would be such a gift to our little family and a beautiful reminder of family and beauty in our small home.

  • This chair would be the perfect match for our grey linen sofa in our modern, yet classic North Loop loft. Looks like the most comfy chair to read a book in with a hot cup o’ java on a Sunday morning. This chair would also pair quite nicely next to our “work-in-progress” bar set up!

  • I would make this my “hers” chair since my hubs already has a “his” chair. I’d place it in the corner of my bedroom and get a little poof stool and a throw and hide away in my very own chair. It would look quite lovely with the rest of my west elm bedroom set.

  • This chair would be perfect in my bedroom and matches the mid century and brass vibe I have going with my dresser and mirror.

  • This chair is absolutely gorgeous! I currently have a living room mainly outfitted in blue and white with a few soft gray items. My boyfriend is moving in soon, so we’re trying to mesh our styles and find a few things we both love to complete the space – this piece would be so perfect!

  • We love this! So versatile. It would find a home in our reading nook, living or bedroom. We’re always reconfiguring our space.

  • This swivel chair is delicious !
I’ve actually just refreshed the paint on my living room walls with a beautiful crisp clean white…….. I have a little sitting corner with a mid-century bench and a #westelm round rug. Currently I have 2 #bluedot out door chairs that I’d LOVE to replace with something more cozy. This chair would be the ABSOLUTE perfect little fit !!!!!!

  • Oh hello gorgeous! I would love to place this under my midcentury modern brass lamp and next to my bookshelves and favorite leafy monsterra plant. Perfect for curling up under a cozy throw with a cup of tea and a book!

  • I’d style this with a plush, navy blue couch I just reupholstered. Alongside some gold and organic accents, the chair would add such a chic touch!

  • Love the chair! Would put this in the corner of my studio apartment in my bedroom area. Would look great close to my bar cart because the brass would match well.

  • Having just bought my very own condo (a first for this gal!) I’m in the midst of putting my home together. I’d love this chair to round out my living room space. I can just picture friends gathered around the fireplace, drinking wine and playing games. The chair would be the statement piece — styled with a comfy throw to cuddle up in as games turn to movies.

  • This would be the perfect accent chair for my living room space! We currently have light gray furniture and dark furniture and this would brighten things up so nicely! It’s such beautiful piece!

  • I love that chair! My husband and I just got married and bought our first house in Portland. We bought a leather couch from west elm and this chair would be the perfect compliment!

  • My husband has an established reading corner that I’ve been coveting since we moved into our new place. With the plush velvet swivel chair, I’d love to create my own corner in the bedroom framed with a stack of my favorite books/magazines and our vintage brass reading lamp.

  • This dreamy piece would be beautiful in the front corner of my 30’s bungalow living room. It will pop beautifully against the classic white built-in mill work and dark wood floors. And really, I just wanna bury my face in that velvet and swivel around dramatically with a glass of tea.

  • I would love to use this chair as an accent piece in our living room. I’ve been looking for an accent chair for that space for a long time, but I’ve been holding out for the perfect one and this one is definitely it! The Nickel color would look excellent with our pale grey walls and the style would pair nicely with our ca. 1960s mid-century style accent table.

  • My boyfriend & I are still on a mission to to furnish our first apartment together. We are looking to add more seating to our living room to accommodate our guests. This beautiful chair would be the perfect accent piece to round out our light, small living room.

  • Love the luxury of this pleated chair. Will look fabulous in my study flanked by a side table topped with a glass of bubbly!

  • I just moved to Philly from Brooklyn and have so much more space. I’d love to put this chair next to my new brick fireplace in our loft. The vibe is very black/white/gray new design/minimalist with a touch of midcentury modern. ID LOVE UP ON THIS CHAIR FOREVER.

  • My 90lb chocolate lab Tate has taken over every seat in my house so I’m craving a pretty seat of my own! This chair would be a wonderful piece in my empty living room that I haven’t a clue to do with!

  • A costly renovation due to water damage has provided me one positive…repainting my small space! This fabulous chair would be the perfect complement to my new palette. Yum!

  • Would love to pair it with a cute little round coffee table, and place it next to my book shelf. It would be such a compliment in my studio apartment.

  • This chair would look great in our living room which has a 50s vibe to match the age of our house… with an area rug like the one in the photo, the chair would be perfect.

  • Near our corner windows on top of layered rugs with the miles floor lamp from Schoolhouse Electric and stacks of mags and books that inevitably piles up 🙂

  • The swivel chair would look great next to my brass mini bar. To accessorize, I’d like to come home, sit down and have a glass of Japanese whiskey on this beautifully designed chair.

  • I LOVE THE VELVET. YUM.
I would put the Swivel chair in the corner of our bedroom next to our citrus plant and wall of French Windows. Perfect nook to cozy up with a throw and let that morning light shine right through!

  • I LOVE THE VELVET! YUM.
I would put the Swivel chair in the corner of our bedroom next to our citrus plant and wall of French Windoes. Perfect nook to cozy up with a throw and let that morning light shine right through.

  • This chair is stunning. As an interior designer, I’ve been a collector of new mid-century (west elm) mash-up with vintage finds for my home. The for textures and patina are rich and delightful in this chair. I’d use it in my living room as an eye stopper. And if I win I’ll be sure to tell all my fellow designers about this beauty too!

  • The brass swivel base will perfectly complement our white enamel and brass floor lamp. Perfect for a reading corner and of course my pups would want to snuggle up here as well!

  • I’d love this chair in front of my window. Cuddling up with a comfy throw and a good book would be perfect on a snowy day like today!

  • These are so gorgeous. I have a chair next to my couch currently, but it doesn’t match any of the other decor, so I’d put this swivel chair in it’s place, throw a blanket over one side and find a wooden mid-century style side table to go next to it! Lovely!!

  • Reminiscent of a more luxurious time with its rich velvet, but with contemporary lines to make it feel more modern. A perfect combination! I’d place this chair in my room in between my bookshelves and the window. The perfect chair to read the classics in. Jane Austen and Henry James would be proud.

  • This chair would be the perfect addition to our living room! Ever since moving to the East coast, we have slowly been adding pieces that match our personalities and style. We are planning to refinish our coffee table and pairing the two together would make our living room complete! It would sit in front of our new gallery wall. The color and fabric are phenomenal!
