Believe it or not, we still have 2 (possibly 3) full bathrooms to renovate in our home. We roughed in plumbing for a full bath in our basement and our upstairs bathroom (the only original bath in the house) is in reallllllllllly rough shape– so rough, I don’t have hot water available to wash my face. Yikes.
Until we save up enough pennies to tackle these projects, I am happy to dream about all the possibilities on W&D! Maybe one of you readers is itching to renovate soon, and can use the inspiration.
When we were designing the kitchen, I almost went with black fixtures. I liked the high contrast, and high quality brass was so expensive. We ended up going with a “brass” fixture and we’re really happy with it, but I have my eyes on black fixtures for one of our bathrooms. I pulled together a couple images of bathrooms that really do black fixtures well. The image above is from Whiting Architects. I love how the contrast makes this space both casual, modern, and luxurious all at once.
This homeowner used clashing patterns bring some warmth to this black and white bathroom. (PS– their eclectic home is worth the detour…)
This bath is a real statement maker! Large slabs of marble with dark fixtures. Super lux.
What’s so great about this bathroom is that is was a surprisingly affordable update (made with all my favorite trimmings).

Black is such a fantastic neutral and grounding element, completely agree with using it in bathrooms!
