Finally! It’s fall! We used our fireplace for the first time a couple weeks ago and I couldn’t have been more pleased. Most importantly, I’ve been waiting impatiently to bring out my boots and jackets. Who doesn’t love cozying into an over-sized sweater and knee-high boots? Or a jacket with a little faux fur collar? I know I am not alone in these thoughts. Lately, I’ve been experimenting with my fall looks a bit more, trying new silhouettes and styles to find my uniform as the season progresses. I can already tell what I’m gravitating towards: deep tones of green and brown, loafers, and turtlenecks. The shoes have been the most fun aspect of my look to switch up. A great shoe can really change your outfit and mood. And because fall makes me incredibly happy, I’ve done everyone a favor and compiled my four favorite shoes for this season.
The block heeled boot is a new classic. It’s comfortable, it’s stylish, and it just works with everything. The best part is that there is a block heeled boot out there for everyone. Is velvet your new obsession? They make it! What about floral? They’ve got that too. And since the block heeled boot is an easy shoe to wear, I let my outfit be the star of the show. High-waisted jeans and a bomber jacket are a no-brainer. Monochromatic black or red really stand out. I can already tell that this fall shoe will be a favorite of mine.

This might be a controversial choice, but white sneakers are a secret power player this season– if you can keep them clean! Like my trusty block heeled boots above, white sneakers are a wardrobe chameleon. You can slip them on with a dress and blazer, for a look that’s equal parts classy and comfy. If you want a more casual outfit, white sneakers play well with lightweight trousers and a denim jacket. My main tip? Don’t think about it too much! Simply replace the sneaker in your normal rotation with white ones and see how you like it.

I could wax poetic about how much I love my classic black leather loafers until the first snow, but I’ll spare you. Sometimes you have to break out of your shell a bit and try something just out of your comfort zone. While one foot stays firmly planted in tom-girl style, loafers with a bit of a fun twist are a nice way to switch it up for fall. I’ve got my eyes on a faux snakeskin pair to jazz up all black outfits. A pair with a bit of embellishment can really take a t-shirt and blue jeans look to the next level.

Minnesotans consider utility boots a necessity once there’s a chill in the air, but they work well for cooler fall days too. You can’t go wrong with an industry standard, like the Red Wing 6inch Moc, but don’t be afraid to try a short motorcycle boot either. The only wardrobe adjustment you need to make here is a nice thick sock– and maybe a pretty plaid coat too.

It looks like we’re on the same page. I own most of these styles, except utility boots, which I really want. Thanks for all these great picks!

I love all these fall trends picture!
Do you have a link for the shoes in the 3rd picture in the ‘white sneakers’ section? (the picture of the sweater dress over black pants) It didn’t seem that any of the links were for those shoes…
