Wit & Delight’s Favorite Products of 2017

Lifestyle

For as volatile and rocky as 2017 was, it will always hold a special place in my heart as it was the year Joe and I welcomed our sweet little baby Birdie into the world. Although she was definitely the most noteworthy accomplishment in a rollercoaster of crazy news stories and incredible acts of togetherness, there were personal highlights and rewarding experiences to celebrate this past year. That took hard work and some sleepless nights. Like a growing team at Wit & Delight, designing new product, launching Studio 125, and 365 jam-packed days of doing what I love.

Wit & Delight continues to surprise me in so many ways. In addition to bringing six new bright and curious minds to our team and a whole new approach to editorial content, we’ve had the opportunity to try new products, experiences, and services. We gather weekly to talk about all of it– what we’re loving, what we wish existed, and problems we’d love to see solved (like how to find your keys when you’ve stuffed them in the pantry or how to fake 8 hours of sleep when you’ve been out all night). One of my favorite parts of my job is then sharing products, ideas, and solutions that I love with all of you all-year-long. It’s taken a few years but now I like to think that my day-to-day is about constant exploration; always keeping my eye out for the latest-and-greatest products and services. Whether recommended by a friend or sent to the studio as a sample, 2017 presented a handful of items I can’t stop talking about. Thankfully, we took diligent notes and were able to pull together a list of some of our favorites.

To give these products the shoutout they deserve, our team has collectively compiled a list of beauty, baby, home, fashion and tech products that we would recommend to you in a heartbeat, just like we would with friends and family. What products did you fall in love with last year? What can’t you live without? Let us know what you are coveting in the comments below!

Origins GinZing(TM) SPF 40 Energy-Boosting Tinted Moisturizer, Origins: $38
Mun Aknari Brightening Youth Serum, Mun: $95

Over the last few years, I have become 100% dependent on dry shampoo. Especially now that I have two kiddos under two, a shower has become somewhat of a luxury in my house. Last year, a friend of mine introduced me to Living Proof’s Dry Shampoo and it smells amazing. So good in fact, I could use it to freshen up the smell of a room or even as perfume when I’m in a pickle. Above are the many other must-have beauty products we are collectively loving at Wit & Delight, including my FAVORITE exfoliator, some fabulous serums, and the best (all natural!) resurfacing mask.

Men’s Cotton Crewneck, Uniqlo, $9
Mini Pompom Earrings, Annie Costello Brown, $205

For practical reasons (see: babies), I would say my style has evolved a bit over this past year. It’s led me to try to figure out how to look put together while maintaining my much-needed sense of daily self-comfort. As of late, I’ve been gravitating more toward effortless wardrobe staples that keep me looking sharp and put together. Here are my top fashion staples of 2017; they truly are staples. Great quality, timeless design, versatile and hardworking!

Baby

Jellycat Odell Octopus Stuffed Animal • Jellycat • $48.50
Tinycottons Off-White And Carmine Grid Body • $49
Eucerin® Aquaphor 14 oz. Baby Healing Ointment • Eucerin • $14.99

Maileg Mini Mouse Scooter Toy with Side Car, $50
DockATot Deluxe+ in Pristine White, $175
Perry Kids Storage Bench, Lulu and Georgia, $335
One Thousand Things, $17

Although I could probably write an entire book on the baby products I love, I narrowed the list down to a few of my all-time favs plus a few items on my wishlist!

Tech

SONOS PLAY:1 Speaker, Pottery Barn : $149
The Frame by Samsung: $2,799
Nespresso VertuoPlus Single by Breville, Nespresso: $199.99
VITRUVI Porcelain Essential Oil Diffuser: $119
Dyson V8 Animal Cordless Vacuum Cleaner, Dyson: $692.23
Fuji Instax Mini 9: $79
Amazon Echo Hands Free Speaker: $179
Airpods, Apple: $159
Tile Mate Item Tracker, 4 pack: $49.99
Skillshare Premium Membership: $0.99 for 3 months

While I wouldn’t consider myself a tech guru, I will admit, I’m not afraid to jump on the first edition of a new product. I had the first iPod and iPhone! I was skeptical about the AirPods at first but it only took one use for me to become a believer. I got my first Tile for Christmas two years ago and used it ALL THE TIME. Tile Mate’s Item Tracker has come in extra handy when my scatterbrain-self manages to lose my phone, wallet, or keys… which happens on the daily these days. Alexa DJs our family dance parties before dinner and frankly, the first thing I reach for in the morning is my Nespresso machine. Streamlining daily life seems to be the theme with this list.

St. Frank’s Framed Textiles: Prices Vary
Folksland Print Pillow Cover, Rejuvenation: $149

When it comes to the home, we talk a lot about furniture and decor on this site. What we haven’t talked about nearly enough are the practical things, like finding the most AMAZING towels. I was gifted a handful of wonderful towels from Uchino that are extremely absorbent while still lightweight. This list includes a really important find for my family: the Mello Sofa turned our living room from a space we rarely used to a space we do EVERYTHING in, from napping to snacking to hosting friends. I’ve also included a couple of items I saw online that I couldn’t stop thinking about, from amazing one-of-a-kind prints from St. Franks to perfectly preppy crisp sheets from Serena & Lily.

Yes to everything in tech! I am obsessed with that Dyson, we have one in our kitchen and it’s so easy to just vacuum every day – and so painless!

I’m also new to Fresh, but I’m excited to try some of their skincare products. I just started using their toner, which I love. Any company that loves rose as much as I do is a win.

Kristen Ess thickening spray is definitely life changing for us fine-haired girls!
