Imagine checking into a hotel room and finding your current set of towels in the bathroom. Would you use them? If not, you probably need new towels.
I recently asked myself this very same question when my sister stayed with us over the holidays. I got the guest room ready, changed the sheets, and gathered extra blankets. As I laid out towels, I realized that I wouldn’t want to use them.
Why is it that I’m forever amassing sheets but not towels? I use both daily, so why are towels low on my “self-care” checklist? I mean, I use the same washcloth from the night before. Aren’t I worth a fresh, clean washcloth each night?
Avocado, home of the fantastic mattresses that I occasionally get to sleep on when putting the kids to bed, has expanded its product offering from mattresses to a line of functional home furnishings and linens.
It’s been so long since I’ve purchased fresh towels. We’ve been generously gifted towels over the years and through various projects. Still, even those had seen better days, which is why I was so excited when I received my new set of Organic Cotton Bath Towels from Avocado.
These towels are crafted under the same rigorous standards as their mattresses, which is why I knew I’d love them. The towels are stitched from 100% GOTS certified cotton and MADE SAFE® Certified. This rigorous scientific screening process only allows the use of ingredients that are not known or suspected to harm human health, animals, aquatic life, or ecosystems.
All that is wonderful, but let’s talk specifically about what I really like: Life can happen in these towels. The towels are a nice mix of fluffy and absorbent. I selected Stone Grey specifically because we are a family of six, and my towels can’t be too precious.
Consider new towels as an investment in self-care and one that you can do with time. Invest in a single bath sheet that you use throughout the week. Purchase multiple washcloths, and use a fresh one every night.
