A huge thanks to The Everygirl and Melissa Oholendt for creating and sharing my home and story today. Creating a home with your spouse comes with challenges, and I think Joe and I did a pretty good job meshing our styles.

Did you know W&D now has a resource library of Printable Art, Templates, Freebies, and more?
Thank you for being here. For being open to enjoying life’s simple pleasures and looking inward to understand yourself, your neighbors, and your fellow humans! I’m looking forward to chatting with you.
I’ll be the first to say it – your home is STUNNING, Kate! The mirrors are gorgeous, and I’ll bet they accentuate the natural light that characterizes your space 🙂
Thank you so much, Amanda!
I am moving to Minneapolis in less than a week and love when I stumble upon stylish homes in the cities- gives me hope that I’ll like it up there! Looks like a great mix of modern/vintage and masculine/feminine styles.
Can you tell me where the little black bird is from?
Hi Sarge! Thank you! I hope you enjoy Minneapolis. The bird is an Eames Bird House, you can buy one at DWR. 🙂
Where did you get the piece of wood for your floor shelf? Favorite part of the new apartment!
Hi KC!
Thank you! I’m not sure where you are located, but found a guy in Lakeville, MN who cut his own lumber, via Craigslist. If you like the raw edge of the wood, be sure to ask if they have live-edge wood. I hope this helps!
K
Your apartment is amazing! I love the blue and gray in your living room, and that wooden shelf is fantastic 🙂
I absolutely love your place, it’s been a big inspiration for my husband and I as we decorate our new home. Where is the side table between the Bertoia chairs from?
What is the name/style of your living room rug? I’ve been looking for something similar? Thanks!
Hi Marjorie!
The rug is a vintage turkish rug that I found here. You can sort by size and color, and they have good deals! That’d be the place I would start.
Hope this helps!

Lovely home and inspiration!
Love it, so inspiring, those massive windows are phenomenal!
Kate–Love your space and style! You can totally feel the coziness when looking at the photos.

Hi!
Love your style.
May I ask where you got the small table (the one pictured beside your living room coffee table).
Would be perfect with our sectional!
Thanks!
Hi Elicia!
Thank you so much. The little table is actually a small stool! You can find them here: http://www.etsy.com/listing/155056994/campfire-stool?ref=pr_shop
Hope this helps!

Hi Kate! Longtime reader. I really value the candor, and aesthetic you share with us on the blog. Now, a question I’ve been dying to ask and it’s finally apropos: How do you clean your Avec couch? I have one, too, and love it, but I know liquid cleaners are a no-go for the material. Any recs? Greatly appreciated!
Hi Louise!
Thank you so much for your kind words, I appreciate it so much!
I had my Avec couch treated with Scotchgard before it was delivered, so anything we spill on it cleans up with pretty easily with just a paper towel. I’ll keep my eyes and ears open on some ideas!

Absolutely gorgeous, loved seeing a peek into your home! You are so insanely talented! Can’t wait for your Target debut!
Beautiful home. Where do you buy picture frames? The two prints on that shelf look quite big, and I always struggle finding larger frames.

Love your home! You have such a great style. I have been looking and looking for an “easy” chair for my husband and trying all costs to avoid a recliner….wondering if you would mind sharing where the chair in the bedroom is from. Love it!
Hi Jackie,
Thank so much! The chair in my bedroom was Joe’s parents. Not sure where it is from, but I’d try Craigslist. If you’ve got a larger budget, Restoration Hardware has some chairs that already have that worn-in look.
Hope this helps!

Kate, your place is so lovely! I’m always admiring the bits and pieces that I see of it on Instagram. Actually, I admired that Wayne Pate bird print so much that I bought one for my new house. The problem is that I can’t find a simple black frame to fit it! May I ask where you found yours?
Thanks for your reply, Kate!
This is so, so BEAUTIFUL. Thanks for the inspiration. I just bought a 1920s house, and my previous house was a rustic ranch. I’m having a hard time decorating. I’ve found that my ‘rustic’ touches don’t belong in a 1920s house. Anyway, thanks again!

Hi there, I love what you’ve done here. Where is that little wooden stool from?
Your home is stunning! I saw these pics floating around on Pinterest and loved them. Glad to know its yours! Congrats!
The rock I live under must be very large since I missed this until now. Gorgeous space. Wit in real life looks just lovely. 😉
A beautiful home, so light and bright – I love the mirrors, especially the large floor standing one – such a focal point.
I am so late to this party, but I’m wondering about the lemon tree in the bedroom. Real? If so, have you any tips on how to grow citrus indoors and if not, where is it from?

Hi Kate,
Your decor is so gorgeous I love it all! Where is the Aztec print/fringe couch pillow from?
Thanks 🙂

[…] This living space is the crisp, light equivalent to this dress. I’m itching to throw a dinner party there wearing this. The white details; i.e. art, mirror, light throw pillows, etc., against the white walls actually play up the natural light and accentuate each other with a tender, uncluttered quality, rather than washing it out. The minimal mixed-ethnic patterns in the rug and throw pillow against the warm wood grain of the floor and other details keep it from being too chilly. Despite the soft qualities and bright lighting, the clean lines keep this room from being exclusively feminine.… Read more »

[…] I’ve always had trouble parting with old magazines – especially cooking and decorating magazines. In fact, I still have an entire box of Domino Magazines wedged under my bed. That’s why I love the idea of repurposing a stack of magazines as the support for a picture ledge. It might just be time for me to dust off those back issues. Via Wit and Delight. […]
