I feel like there are two ways people react when hearing/reading the word “vegan.” The first is something along the lines of, “YES! I am so happy I have an option for my dietary choice!” The second is, “UGH…vegan? Why do we have to have recipes like this? I bet it tastes awful.”

There’s some truth in thinking that vegan foods can taste not great. I’ve purchased and have tried to make a lot of vegan foods due to my son’s many allergies and I tend to agree…I haven’t found too many vegan options I would buy a second time. (I wrote more about my son’s allergies and shared another recipe my family loves—a creamy sweet potato soup—in this post!)

Easy Vegan Ranch Dip

In my quest to have my son feel included in our family meal and snack times, and because of my own goal to be able to provide yummy, healthy options for my entire family, I created this recipe. It’s a vegan ranch dip that tastes so yummy with fresh veggies, potato chips, or slathered on chicken and baked. (I realize chicken isn’t vegan, but this is what works for our family—our son can have no dairy or eggs but he can have meat!)

Without further ado, here’s the recipe. I hope you enjoy!

(Editor’s note: Chelsey made this for us at the studio a while back and I can attest to the fact that it’s realllly good. I went back for seconds later in the afternoon.)

Easy Vegan Ranch Dip

Vegan Ranch Dip

Ingredients

  • 2 c vegan mayo (I love the taste of Hellman’s, and you can find it in stock at most grocers!)
  • ¼ c oat milk (or nondairy milk )
  • 1 T apple cider vinegar
  • 2 T minced garlic
  • 1 t dry dill weed
  • 1 t smoked paprika
  • ½ t onion powder
  • ¼ t red pepper flakes

Directions

Step one: In a blender, add all the ingredients and blend until smooth. If it’s too thick, add a little more nondairy milk.

Step two: Enjoy with fresh veggies, potato chips, or as a spread on sandwiches!

This recipe keeps for up to one week in your refrigerator!

My husband stopped eating dairy sometime last year and it’s been a struggle to find things we can both enjoy that we ate before. THIS IS SO GOOD! It tastes similar to the fish dip we used to eat (I think it’s the smoked paprika).

10/10 would make again.
