We put together two mood boards and a final edit for Christian based on his ultimate dream kitchen. With two styles detailed, Christian’s options range from an eclectic look featuring old-world lighting and Moroccan tile to a design featuring clean lines, classic materials, and the warmth of wood.

Rustic Elegance

I love how this mood board balances transitional style with bohemian and rustic trends. A simple gray and white textured Herringbone tile backsplash makes it easy to incorporate plants, rugs, and brass for texture.

Mid-century Inspiration

An updated take on a classic look. The use of warm wood and clean lines makes this space decidedly masculine, but far from dark and cavernous. I’m really loving the way this retro style looks with sleek stainless appliances, steel farmhouse sink, and chrome accents.

We decided to find a way to combine the two themes into a final suggestion of products and materials to bring his new kitchen to life:

We think this rustic, yet sleek kitchen will speak to the modern minimalist, urban internationalist and just about anyone who has a flair for a newly remodeled kitchen. The concrete countertops compliment the navy cabinets, while the stainless steel appliances and cabinetry hardware offer a polished, clean feel. The penny tile backsplash will give it that classic look with an unexpected pop of color and culture found tucked under a peninsula or behind the stove, so color and pattern will not overwhelm the space.
