While most of us love experimenting with new beauty and skin-care products every once in a while, there’s something particularly comforting about the tried and true products that never let us down—especially when they’re at price points that don’t give us sticker shock.
These products range in price from $6 on the low end to $22 on the high end—they get the job done and they’re relatively affordable to boot. We hope you find these recommendations helpful!
In Kate’s words, “This eyeliner lasts forever and has a super-fine tip that allows for a lot of control. It goes on smoothly every time and doesn’t stay wet for too long. I used to always get smudges on my eyelids from eyeliner but never with this product!”
This product is a convenient 2-in-1 mascara and primer that boosts both lash volume and length. The product goes on smoothly with no clumps in sight.
Whether or not we’ve tried it ourselves, chances are we’re all familiar with the look of this classic pink mascara tube. As Erin says, “This product has got a cult following for a reason. When possible, I try to find it in the ‘Blackest Black’ color.”
Per Kate, “This is my favorite sheer lipstick. It goes on smoothly and gives an instantly polished look without feeling too sticky or caked on. I prefer the ruby color because I can build it to the intensity I prefer given my mood that day.”
I’d be willing to take a bet that the vast majority of us have tried this classic lip balm at one point or another. It’s moisturizing and refreshingly minty and, as Erin says, “It’s an easy go-to I’ve been using for probably fifteen years.”
Per Bridgette, “My regular nighttime routine includes a final clean with toning. I’m always disgusted/fascinated by how much YUCK is removed with the toner even after I’ve already washed my face.”
According to Bridgette, “I fell in love with the Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser and its lightweight cleansing ability, but I wasn’t savvy enough to remember to reorder it before it ran out. I found a great alternative in Bliss Makeup Melt. It still feels lightweight and works just as well.”
According to Carolyn, “This product has done the MOST to clear up my skin. There’s more I could say about it but basically I would tell anyone dealing with acne to try it. Honestly, I kind of panic when I run out. “
As Bridgette puts it, “I LOVE a good, deep exfoliation, but I know that it’s not always the best for your skin. I like using the Gentle Konjac Sponge to get the feeling of scrubbing without actually taking a layer of skin off my face. I use the sponge in conjunction with the Bliss Makeup Melt.”
This body lotion has remained a favorite of Nancy’s for years. It’s moisturizing, has a lovely scent (that isn’t too overpowering), and it’s pretty hard to beat that sweet, sweet price point.
This deodorant and I are in a long-term relationship. I’ve tried other “natural” deodorants that my body eventually started to reject (translation: I smelled) but I’ve used this one for years and that hasn’t happened. It smells amazing and works like a charm.
