4 Shoes I’ll Be Living in This Spring (and My Review of Each Pair)

Spring Shoes Review

When I went through my closet last month, I noticed that when it came to sandals, there was little variety beyond clogs and standard slides. I decided to look for some unique shoe styles to add to my wardrobe for the spring (and summer) season to come. I wanted to find shoes that could both dress up casual outfits and dress down dressier pieces. Below are the four spring shoes I bought—three pairs of sandals and one pair of closed-toe heels. In today’s post, I’m sharing my thoughts on each pair, including likes, dislikes, and fit info.

Mango Fisherman Sandals

Price: $100

Likes: I really like the boxy style of these sandals, which gives them a modern edge. In person, the platform looks really thick; paired with the smaller footbed on top, it leads to a chunky, flattering look. I also love the color, a light mushroom tone. I’m excited to wear these to ground the look of flowy dresses this spring and summer.

Dislikes: With a sandal that buckles, I personally like to be able to easily slip them on my foot. These are a little difficult to slip on, although I’m thinking it could become easier over time if they stretch a bit.

Fit Info: I got a size 7 ½  (it appears that Mango doesn’t sell my usual size 7) and they fit really well. In my opinion, the width of these shoes seems to be standard—not too narrow or wide.

Nomadic State Of Mind Boardwalk Sandals

Nomadic State Of Mind Boardwalk Sandals

Price: $68

Likes: I love the look of these sandals. They’re super lightweight; when I have them on, I almost feel like I’m not even wearing shoes. They’re also more comfortable than I thought they would be from the pictures. They’re easy to slip on and they stay on my foot well while walking.

Dislikes: They come with a big fabric tag on the side, which I’ll likely cut off. In terms of comfort, I wouldn’t plan to go on a long walk in them, but I can comfortably be on my feet for a while while wearing them.

Fit Info: They’re true to size. I purchased my usual size 7.

03

Birkenstock Shearling Slide Sandal

Birkenstock Shearling Slide Sandal

Price: $180

Likes: I love the style of these sandals, and they’re also really comfortable and lightweight. I’d seen others wearing them so many times online and I finally decided to purchase them. I feel like they’re really versatile and I’ll be able to get a great amount of wear out of them from now through fall.

Dislikes: There’s something about the shearling material that doesn’t feel as high-quality as I’d have liked for the price point, but I’m hoping the construction holds up over time regardless.

Fit Info: They fit a little narrow and have a very flat footbed. I purchased my usual size 7.

04

Mango Heel Leather Shoes

Mango Heel Leather Shoes

Price: $130

Likes: I love the style of these shoes—they look preppy but also a bit retro, and I don’t have any other shoes with a silhouette quite like them. I like the black contrast sole, and I think they’ll look really cute with thin socks and wide-leg jeans (among so many other outfits). They remind me of my Easter shoes when I was four… in a good way! I also like the lower, two-inch heel height, which is easier to wear with my lifestyle than a higher heel. They’re easy to put on (the strap on the front has elastic) and, unlike another Mary Jane style shoe I have, the shape doesn’t give me blisters as I wear them.

Dislikes: I’m guessing my feet may sweat a bit in them if worn without socks for an extended period, and the construction doesn’t seem quite as nice as I’d imagined.

Fit Info: I got a size 7 ½ and they fit really well. The width seems to be standard—not too narrow or wide.
