There are very few things I *need* in my closet right now. However, I am looking for a couple of specific items in unique designs and silhouettes.
One of my favorite follows on TikTok is @pigmami, who has been guiding followers on how to assess their wardrobe in the new year—not only in terms of what is missing but in a way that encourages you to reorganize your space so you can optimally style what you have. I LOVED this suggestion so I spent some time looking at what I already have in my closet and organizing style inspiration on my phone. Then I made a list of a few of the unique clothing items and accessories I’d love to add to the mix, which I’m sharing below!
I probably need to build out this category in my wardrobe the most. Pants have been notoriously difficult to shop for since giving birth to my second child, which means I often avoid the hard work of trial and error to find the right fit. I love to see a more relaxed trouser silhouette being offered! I have my eye on this pair from Alex Mill. I’m loving the richness of these inky blue corduroys.
These kinds of boots are all about playfulness and would change how I style all of my dresses, skirts, and leggings. A whole bunch of new outfits could be made by this one pair of boots, which makes them a priority for me, even though they’re a little out of my comfort zone.
I’d like to become someone who incorporates scarves into their outfit styling—nothing more than that! The Hermès silk scarf pictured here is a gorgeous option.
I have a plethora of tops but I’ve mostly been wearing them with similar kinds of pants. I’d love a new skirt to mix things up. I’d wear sweaters untucked over it with the previously mentioned boots.
Most often in the winter months, I can be found wearing some kind of long coat. A cropped jacket that’s super warm is one way to create a whole new look for all of my outfits, whether I’m running out the door for school drop-off or running errands. I love the idea of getting a brightly-colored green jacket! I also have this Uniqlo cropped jacket in the brown color, which I love.

They can definitely be intimidating to style!
