I took a look at my closet last week in an attempt to start planning what I wanted to purchase for the upcoming warmer season. I like to take this kind of inventory before spring and fall, then intentionally add some updated pieces to my wardrobe. When I was deciding what to purchase for spring, a few clothing items and accessories stood out as the main focus. With some simple styling edits, all of the pieces I selected will enhance wardrobe staples I already own.
01
Dresses
My inclination when it comes to spring and summer clothing has always been toward dresses because it’s an outfit that’s one and done. I wanted to find a couple of new-to-me silhouettes and colors, and the pieces below represent exactly that.

Shorts
I spent last summer trying to find shorts I liked that were a longer length, which is great for running after kids and generally being active in the warmer months. I ended up buying two pairs from H&M right away this spring, because I know they’ll sell out.
H&M Lyocell-Blend Shorts – I purchased these shorts in both white and black.

Sandals
Finding a couple of great pairs of sandals was a big focus for me this spring. I’ll be sharing a dedicated blog post review of the sandals I bought in early April, so keep an eye out for that post in the next few weeks!

Sunglasses
I wanted to find a couple of pairs of sunglasses with new-to-me shapes and lens colors this year and these all fit the bill!

Accessories
I’m still into big padded headbands and bucket hats. I recently purchased one of each to wear this spring and summer, and I want to get some big scrunchies like this one too!
