Well, they’ve gone and done it again. If you are a regular Wit & Delight reader, you are already familiar with my borderline obsession with Cuyana (see exhibits A, B and C). I’m an admirer of their “fewer, better things” manifesto, a concept I am actually forced to try now as Joe and I are living with his parents during our kitchen remodel. It’s one thing to live out of a suitcase during a weekend getaway, but quite another to do so for 12-16 weeks.

Last month my friends at Cuyana sent me their Classic Zipper Tote, which isn’t so much new, as a reinvention of an old classic. The addition of a zipper makes this bag more functional than the bag I was using prior to haul, what feels like my life, from place to place.

It’s still the tote I would recommend if you’re looking for a minimal leather carry-all. It also looks and feels more expensive than it actually is. I’ve been using mine for a month, and it has journeyed with me to and from destinations as exotic as Dallas (wink), LA and Northfield. My Cuyana travel case, which I purchased two years ago, looks even better after years of wear and tear, so I know I can expect to continue to use this new tote long after my hectic travel and commuting schedule is complete.
